Revision summary

World general knowledge in screening tests is mostly stable facts: the largest and smallest of things, capitals, currencies and where international bodies sit. The Pacific is the largest and deepest ocean, followed by the Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic. Asia is the largest continent by area and population, then Africa. Vatican City is the smallest country, then Monaco. Capitals that differ from the largest city are favourites: Ankara (not Istanbul), Canberra (not Sydney), Ottawa (not Toronto), Abuja (not Lagos). Currencies: yen (Japan), yuan or renminbi (China), won (South Korea), ringgit (Malaysia), riyal (Saudi Arabia), dirham (UAE). Institutions: the UN headquarters is in New York, its European office and the WHO are in Geneva, the International Court of Justice is in The Hague, and UNESCO is in Paris. Current-affairs questions change every year, so keep them separate from these fixed facts.
